On December 2, 2015, Great Western Minerals Group (the “Company” or “GWMG”) filed an assignment in bankruptcy for the general benefit of creditors and PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. was appointed as trustee in bankruptcy of the Company (the “Trustee”).

The Notice of the Bankruptcy and First Meeting of Creditors and materials relating to the bankruptcy proceedings were mailed by the Trustee on December 7, 2015 to all known creditors of the Company, pursuant to the provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.

The first meeting of creditors will be held at the offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., PwC Tower, 18 York Street, Suite 2600, London Room #26014, Toronto, Ontario, on December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

Status of File as of January 20, 2016

On January 18, 2016, the Court issued an Endorsement with its decision in respect of the motion brought by VKLPC for release of funds held by the Sheriff (the “Funds”), which orders that:

  1. the Sheriff is to pay the Funds to the Trustee; and
  2. 10% of the cost for the administration of the bankruptcy shall be paid out of the Funds to a maximum of $2,500.

Status of File as of January 8, 2016

On January 7, 2016, the Trustee filed its First Report to Court to provide the Court with information in respect of the motion brought by Vernon Kiss Legal Professional Corporation (“VKLPC”) for an order directing the Sheriff of the Judicial district of Saskatoon (the “Sheriff”) to release certain funds seized by the Sheriff to VKKPC.

Status of File as of December 4, 2015

On December 3, 2015, the Monitor issued a press release announcing that it has filed an assignment in bankruptcy under the BIA on behalf of the Company. A copy of the press release has been posted under the Press Release section.
