If your organization is like many others across Canada, it may rely heavily on foreign workers to meet its labour market needs. If not, it probably soon will. That’s due to an acute and growing shortage of highly skilled labour in key industries — brought on by economic globalization, which is increasing the competition for talent — and changing demographic. As such, there is a great urgency for employers to have proper policies for hiring immigrants to address immediate and long-term labour market needs.
