Senior Tax Consultant, PwC Canada
Réal Tremblay is a senior tax consultant in the Tax Services practice of PwC Canada, working in the Quebec City office. He is a member of PwC’s Canadian National Tax Services group and Global Tax Dispute Resolution network. Réal is also involved with PwC’s Perspective North initiative, focusing primarily on the tax benefits of the plan Le Nord Pour Tous (The North for All).
Before joining the firm, Réal worked for Revenu Québec for 12 years, including seven years in the area of interpretation and five years as head of the law drafting department. He also worked for 23 years in the Quebec Finance Ministry’s tax policy division, spending the final 10 years as assistant deputy minister in charge of the tax law and taxation divisions.
Réal has solid experience in all aspects of provincial and federal tax. He also worked for five years in the area of mining exploration financing via flow-through shares. More recently, Réal participated actively in the comprehensive review of the mining royalty regime announced in the Quebec budget speech on March 30, 2010. He also played a key role in drafting new rules aimed at combating aggressive tax planning.
