John MacKinlay is a partner in PwC Canada’s Financial Services Consulting working in the Toronto office.
John has been a banker or senior adviser to the banking industry for almost 20 years. He helps clients develop and implement winning strategies in areas of revenue growth, corporate development and operational efficiency and effectiveness. John has recently returned to the firm from industry where, in his capacity as Chief Strategy Officer, he led the market entry and acquisition strategy for a top-20 international bank.
John earned a B.Sc in biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1986 and an MBA with a major in finance from St. Mary's University in Halifax in 1990. He originally joined PwC in 1996, became a Partner in 2001 and returned to the firm in 2009.
John has published thought pieces on transformation in the banking industry and is routinely called upon by industry executives, associations and media for his views on competitive strategies.
