These Terms & Conditions (which include the privacy statement, terms of use and cookies information) were last changed on the date set out at the top of this box. PwC may change these Terms & Conditions at any time by publishing an updated version on this site which you can access through the Terms & Conditions link. If you continue to use the site after a change is made, your continued use confirms you accept the change.

 

1. Privacy statement

Introduction

PwC is committed to protecting your personal information. This statement explains how we treat information about you as an individual we collect through PwC's Look inside website (this site). By using this site, you agree to this privacy statement, including PwC collecting, processing and transferring your personal information in accordance with it.

How do we collect your information?

To register you to use this site, we created a profile for you into which we entered information which we collected about you in connection with your application for employment. We entered your name and email address and may also have entered the following information about you:

·        the city and country in which the PwC member firm you are joining is located

·        the line of service you’ll be joining

·        your proposed start date

·        your intake type (to help you identify similar users of this site)

·        last university you attended.

You may choose to complete your profile on this site with your phone number, biography, LinkedIn profile and how you would describe yourself in five words. You may also provide us with further information about yourself when using this site. For example, when contributing to blog posts or discussions or adding comments. Other users of this site will be able to see your personal information and they may use it to contact you. We will also log your visits to this site, including information about the device and browser you use, your IP address and location.

We do not collect sensitive information about you

We don't collect sensitive personal information about you through this site. Sensitive personal information includes information about your gender, race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, criminal records, physical or mental health, or sexual life. Please respect the above and note that the consent for processing of personal information that you have given applies to all personal information you provided to us.

How do we use your personal information?

You agree PwC may use your personal information for a range of purposes, including:

·        to authenticate your identity and prevent unauthorised access to this site

·        to operate, administer, manage and make improvements to this site

·        to personalise and enrich your experience when using this site and our other sites, including by displaying content more likely to be relevant and of interest to you

·        to develop and manage our relationship with you, including by providing you with information about us

How will my personal information be transferred or disclosed?

PwC is a global network with member firms around the world. We may transfer and disclose your personal information to other PwC member firms for any of the purposes referred to above. PwC and other PwC member firms use resources and servers located in various countries around the world to process your personal information. Your personal information may also be transferred to third party service providers who process information on behalf of PwC or other PwC member firms, including providers of IT, website management, data analysis, data back-up, security and storage services. The third party service providers may also use their own third parties (sub-processors). Third party service providers and their sub-processors are under a duty to maintain appropriate levels of security and confidentiality and to process personal information only as instructed by PwC member firms.

As a result, your personal information may be transferred outside the country you are located in. This includes countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and countries that do not have laws that provide specific protection for personal information. Where we collect your personal information within the EEA, transfer outside the EEA will be only under an agreement which covers the EU requirements for the transfer of personal data to data processors outside the EEA.

PwC or other PwC member firms may disclose your personal information to law enforcement, regulatory, or other government agencies or to other third parties as required by, and in accordance with, applicable law or regulation.

Individuals’ rights and how to exercise them?

Individuals have certain rights over their personal data and data controllers are responsible for fulfilling these rights.  Where we decide how and why personal data is processed, we are a data controller and include further information about the rights that individuals have and how to exercise them below.

Access to personal data

You have a right of access to personal data held by us as a data controller.  This right may be exercised by emailing us at  privacy@pwc.com.

Amendment of personal data

To update personal data submitted to us, you may email us at privacy@pwc.com  or, by amending the personal details held on Look Inside profile.

When practically possible, once we are informed that any personal data processed by us is no longer accurate, we will make corrections (where appropriate) based on your updated information.

Withdrawal of consent

Where we process personal data based on consent, individuals have a right to withdraw consent at any time.  To withdraw consent to our processing of your personal data please email us at  privacy@pwc.com.  

Right to restrict or object to our processing of personal data

You have the right to restrict or object to the processing of your personal information at any time, on reasonable grounds relating to your particular situation, unless the processing is required by law.

In such case, we will no longer process or restrict the processing of the personal data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Other data subject rights

This transparency notice is intended to provide information about what personal data we collect about you and how it is used.  As well as rights of access, amendment and restriction or objection to processing referred to above, individuals may have other rights in relation to the personal data we hold, such as a right to erasure/deletion and the right to data portability.

Complaints

We hope that you won’t ever need to, but if you do want to complain about our use of personal data, please send an email with the details of your complaint to privacy@pwc.com.  We will look into and respond to any complaints we receive. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant Supervisory Authority.  For further information on your rights and how to complain to the relevant Supervisory Authority, please refer to the web page of the local Personal Data Protection Authority.

Deactivating your account

Your account will be deactivated 30 days after you start work with PwC. Before that, you may request your account be deactivated at any time by sending your request to lookinside@uk.pwc.com. Please note that, following account deactivation, your profile will be deleted from this site after 2 years, but we will not remove other content you created on the site or submitted to it or anonymise it.

For how long will PwC retain my personal information?

PwC will retain your personal information for as long as is required for any of the purposes described above or as required by applicable law or regulation.

2 Monitoring

PwC may monitor your use of this site from time to time but doesn't commit to do so. If PwC monitors your use of this site it will do so in accordance with applicable law.

3 Content you contribute to Look Inside

Anything you contribute to this site (including anything you create in it) is 'your contributed content', regardless of whether you source it from elsewhere. By contributing your contributed content to this site, you represent and confirm to PwC that anyone else with an interest in your contributed content has given you all necessary rights and permissions to do so. This includes authorising you to grant PwC the licence and other rights referred to below on their behalf.

You grant PwC a worldwide licence to use your contributed content. The licence you grant PwC is non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, assignable and royalty-free. It includes the right for PwC to:

6 Other terms

If you do not comply with these terms and PwC does not take action immediately, this does not mean PwC gives up it right to take action in the future.

These terms of use and any dispute or proceedings arising from them or your use of this site are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which PwC has its principal place of business and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
