Transactions Specialist

Our client is a Bermuda based Reinsurer and Consolidator with a proven track-record of successfully acquiring and operating portfolios or direct insurers in Europe, primarily those in run-off. The company focuses on annuity, guaranteed savings or protection product lines. Mindful of the impact of acquisitions or transfers on staff and policyholders, the company seeks to work with the seller in these situations.

Due to continued business growth, the Company is looking to hire a Transactions Specialist, who will report to the Transactions Manager. Working within an entrepreneurial, fast – moving and deal- oriented environment, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in transaction planning, data management and business operations.

The role is ideally suited to a Business Analyst, Project Manager or professional with strong systems and operations – focused experience, ideally gained within the Life re/insurance sector. Candidates from other re/insurance backgrounds or those with transferable financial services experience, will also be considered.

Key responsibilities will include to:

  • Assist with project management of transactions including, but not limited to:
    • Scoping and planning the transaction;
    • Managing transaction data rooms;
    • Communicating project plans;
    • Producing information and/or analysis for various internal and external stakeholders;
    • Handling file documentation and transaction documentation;
    • Coordinating meetings on progress or on delivery of specific items that assist in delivery of the transaction;
    • Recording and distributing Minutes of project team meetings;
  • Assisting with the preparation of presentations and other documents as necessary.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of regulatory filings;
  • Project manage IT migrations and systems updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to Bachelors degree level and at least 3-5 years’ professional experience as a Data Analyst, Project Manager, or related discipline, as outlined above. Candidates with more years’ experience will also be actively considered;
  • Experience in the operational and data – management of life re/insurance transactions or other reinsurance transactions, would be beneficial;
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrable experience in identifying and driving process efficiencies, using the Microsoft Office suite of applications;
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail and proficient in project and office management;
  • An efficient self-starter, capable of multi – tasking and prioritizing, in a fast – moving environment
  • Robust and focused, prepared to take on significant workload for periods, when the need arises
  • PMP or related professional qualification would be helpful.
