Job Description Overview
Our client provides professional indemnity insurance for a global network of firms. The client is seeking a Risk Manager to assist the Chief Risk Officer in embedding a desirable risk culture across the group and its subsidiaries, in line with regulatory requirements (including Solvency II) and the Company’s own Enterprise Risk Management Framework, thereby assisting the business in meeting its strategic objectives.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage the risk and control assessment process to ensure that the risk profiles of the group and its subsidiaries are identified, assessed, monitored and reported in line with Enterprise Risk Management Framework and associated Risk Management policy documents
- Review and challenge the outputs from the risk and control assessment process considering regulatory and internal audit findings as well as any other internal and external reviews
- Maintain the Risk Register including outputs from various Risk Management processes such as risk and control assessment, emerging risk assessment, deep dives, risk reporting, etc
- Assist with the review and implementation of the Risk Appetite so that it supports the business strategy and objectives
- Assist with the delivery of Stress Testing and Scenario Analysis program including identification of scenarios, scenarios assessment and associated management actions
- Assist in the collation and interpretation of information feeding into Board and committee risk reports including risk appetite measures and the ORSA
- Assist in setting and implementing the annual Risk Plan as part of the combined assurance approach alongside Compliance and Internal Audit
- Undertake deep dive reviews into controls across the business in line with the Risk Plan
- Review Enterprise Risk Management Framework and associated Risk Management policy documents and self-assessments, and propose enhancements where appropriate
- Maintain close working liaison with other functions within the business, both internal and outsourced, to ensure that risks to the company are identified and that reported Risk MI remains appropriate
Qualifications
Education: Degree in risk management or eqivalent (desirable but not required)
Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ risk management experience within the insurance industry.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Solvency II Pillar 2 (preferable)
- Experience of developing / implementing ERMF and ORSA
- Strong analytical skills and ability to form sound conclusions / judgements
- Good report writing and communication skills
