Head of Sales & Marketing (Executive Team)

Our client is a strong market leader in Barbados’ insurance industry and within the region’s financial industry. The company has built its strength in property and casualty, together with Group Life and Health insurance and now offers a fully composite suite of insurance, including individual life and health, annuities, pensions, motor, property and casualty. Shareholders include institutional investors and private individuals are traded on the Barbados Stock Exchange.

Summary:

Due to continued growth, the company is looking to hire a Head of Sales & Marketing. This is an Executive team role, reporting directly to the CEO. The Head of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing directives aligned to the profit plan of the business, including overseeing the company’s sales efforts. Specific responsibilities include overall positioning of the brand and communications. As part of the Executive Team, the Head of Sales & Marketing leads the development of strategic growth plans and contributes to the achievement of  corporate strategic objectives in the areas of customer focus, future growth and operational excellence.

The Head of Sales & Marketing is responsible for meeting customer acquisition and revenue growth objective, assessed against a series of KPIs. He or she will be responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans in the organization. Executing sales & marketing strategies required for achieving financial targets by aligning the Sales & Marketing teams to work towards common goals.

Direct reports / teams will comprise: commercial sales team, Broker sales team, Retail sales team, Life Sales Agents team, Marketing & Communications team, Sales Operation.

Requirements and Experience:

• Masters in Leadership/Management or Master of Business Administration
• 5+ years in leadership role within the financial services sector
• Extensive Sales experience
• Ability to work in a highly competitive environment
• Marketing experience
• Customer Service Management
• Product Deployment Experience
• Insurance industry experience is strongly preferred
• Experience with hiring and building a sales team
