Our growing Regulatory Advisory Practice is proactively responding to client demand in an environment of change, both in the local market and internationally. The team includes advisory staff from a variety of disciplines including regulatory specialists and actuaries; and draws on the skills of the wider firm to support the delivery of engagements.

Role description

The successful candidate will work in an area of strategic priority for PwC Bermuda and be engaged primarily in delivering client service in relation to Solvency II and capital model review and validation. This Senior Manager position would well suit a flexible experienced professional looking for a new challenge in an exciting and dynamic market.

The successful candidate will have the following minimum skills and experience.

  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society (or equivalent) with at least 12 years experience within the non-life insurance industry.
  • Capital modelling experience through consulting services or through implementation within a company, which could include model build, parameterization, and validation.
  • Knowledge of the Solvency II regime and the relevant consultation papers and guidance.
  • Knowledge of sound Risk Management and Governance practices, including familiarity with key management information and performance indicators.
  • Strong client management skills, including relationship-building skills and project management ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including an ability to tailor technical communications to varied audiences.
  • A proven track record of delivering excellent service to internal or external clients.
  • Be of good standing in their current market.

Other skills and experience that would be an advantage.

  • Experience with ReMetrica, Igloo, Risk Explorer or other stochastic modelling platforms.
  • Familiarity with RMS, EQECAT, or AIR.
  • Life / Long Term insurance experience (in addition to the General Insurance experience noted above).
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing staff.
  • Experience with the Bermuda regulatory market.
