Job Shadowing
Job shadowing is a programme aimed at providing scholars considering a career as a Chartered Accountant with the opportunity to practically explore what the career might entail.
Scholars arrange to spend a day at a PricewaterhouseCoopers office literally “shadowing” one of our trainee accountants. This experience enables scholars to experience, first-hand, “a day in the life of a trainee accountant”. In most instances, job shadowing will entail visiting one of our clients where an audit is already in progress. Scholars will even be given a couple of tasks to perform in order for them to gain practical insight into how an audit is carried out.
In addition, time spent with one of our trainee accountants provides scholars with an opportunity to find out more about what the academic requirements are to qualify as a Chartered Accountant, what career opportunities are available and what PricewaterhouseCoopers has to offer.
How do I arrange job-shadowing?
Contact the Human Capital Manager at your closest PricewaterhouseCoopers office. At least one week’s notice is required to allow for arrangements to be made. Applicants should be in Grade 11 or Grade 12, should be doing maths and/or accounting on higher grade and must be serious about pursuing a career in Chartered Accounting.
