PwC has developed a set of services to support our clients in their goal toward compliance with the requirements of the transformation legislation and industry regulation in South Africa.

  • Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) issued under section 9(1) of the B-BBEE Act 53 of 203.
  • The various industry sector Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Charters and attached scorecards (“Industry Scorecard”).

Advisory Services
Our Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment team can support companies with their transformation processes through services such as:
  • Assessment of existing compliance with the requirements of the Codes and the applicable Industry Scorecard
  • Presentation of a gap-analysis highlighting findings of the assessment process
  • Facilitating a workshop with key personnel responsible for the transformation agenda, to highlight practices that can improve the findings of the gap-analysis
  • Support with the development of internal non-financial reporting systems and processes as related to Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
  • Development of policies to support transformation goals, such as preferential procurement and corporate social investment policies

Assuring your BEE Scorecard
PwC will give an independent verification of your BEE scorecard as outlined by the DTI Codes of Good Practice or your specific industry Charter. We have developed a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment regulation specific assurance audit methodology, enabling us to provide these internal and external Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment assurance services to our clients.
