PwC Breakfast Discussion: Roadmap for inviting strategic investors or listing

On 15 May 2012, PwC Vietnam organised a Breakfast Discussion with the topic “Roadmap for inviting strategic investors or listing.” 35 Vietnamese enterprises with sound development strategies and high growth potentials were invited to the event.

The speakers comprise Ph. D. Nguyen Son - General Director of Securities Market Development of State Securities Commission; Mr. Kennedy Liu – PwC Asia Capital Markets Leader; Mr. Mihir Trivedi - Leader of the Capital Markets Services for SEAPEN Region and Mr. Tony Dang Quoc Tuan - Leader of the Capital Markets Services of PwC Vietnam.
The discussion covered the following 2 main areas:

- to support the business expansion: the target audience being Vietnamese enterprises with good track records. Relevant issues of the discussion included: how to invite strategic investors to increase funds for production and business development, what to pay attention to in connection with financial reporting systems, internal controls, corporate governance, human resources, etc. in order to meet fast growing needs, etc.

- to support overseas listing: the target audience being strongly growing Vietnamese companies which aim to expand business in the region and globally. Relevant issues of the discussion included: advantages and disadvantages of overseas listing, overseas listing requirements, overseas listing roadmap, elements affecting the selection of securities exchanges, etc.

The discussion was a success with strong interest from the attendees. “The attendees’ interest in the discussion matters showed the demand from Vietnamese enterprises to restructure their organization to overcome the current market difficulties. Those companies who are well prepared at this stage will have huge advantages when the market recovers” said Mr. Tony Dang Quoc Tuan, Leader of the Capital Markets Services of PwC Vietnam.
