Manager/Assistant Manager – Business Restructuring Services

In the past, companies in Vietnam benefited from a period of exceptional growth and access to relatively cheap funding as the real estate and stock markets soared – this brought about rapid, easy growth and high profitability. Companies took advantage of this to invest in a broad and varied range of opportunities to grow profits and revenues, with little need to consider strategy, structure or processes. Now that the market has slowed down, the same companies are being faced with a stark and difficult aftermath – a melting pot of disparate investments, high operating costs, inefficient operations, duplication and disorganisation and leaders struggling to manage a diverse, unrelated portfolio of struggling business lines.

The Business Restructuring Team helps clients to reassess and implement a coherent strategy, structure and processes and develop the human resources to support such changes. This is about getting the business under control and back on the right track to achieve sustainable growth and success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple client development efforts, design and sell engagements, as well as manage client relations in a consulting environment
  • Develop a detailed project scope/deliverable design and work plans
  • Manage projects (often simultaneously) providing consulting services covering debt and corporate restructuring ranging from strategy, structure, accounting and finance, human resource, internal control, etc.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time/budget, and meet or exceed client expectations
  • Conduct frequent interactions with executive clients and provide insights and recommendations on issues impacting the client’s business
  • Perform other duties assigned.


Qualifications: Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration. A CFA, CPA, or ACCA preferred


  • A minimum of six years proven experience in a managerial position in areas such as investment, accounting, internal control, financial operations, financial due diligence and auditing at multinational companies or auditing firms
  • Experience in restructuring areas such as operational restructuring, cost reduction, shared services, process improvement, etc. is a plus

Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), Vietnamese Accounting Standards (“VAS”), Vietnam tax regulations, business laws, risk management, and internal controls

  • Ability to coach to assistant manager levels and below, recognising strengths and providing regular feedback for professional development
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in Vietnamese and English
