PwC wins Asia Risk's Consultant of the Year award 2013

PwC has been named Asia Risk’s Consultant of the Year 2013 by Incisive Media. This outstanding result recognises the efforts of PwC's Risk Team who delivered a strong and compelling performance. This is PwC's first ever win with Asia Risk.

The Risk Team was commended for their pioneering work in establishing a shared data platform for eight city and rural commercial banks in Mainland China. Their efforts bring a solution to a long-standing issue throughout much of Asia: a lack of sufficient data to create statistical models necessary in credit risk management. They were also recognised for their globally important work in helping one of China's Big 4 banks meet its international recovery and resolution planning requirements, as well as demonstrating their commitment to the broader region with projects to improve risk management for banks in Vietnam. Vietcombank Market Risk project (led by Dinh Hong Hanh, Director, Consulting services at PwC Vietnam) was one of the successful cases brought to the panel for evaluation.

These cases not only demonstrate best practice in delivering client value, but also highlights our commitment to further developing the risk industry as a whole.


PwC Vietnam honoured with Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for its Achievements in Building and Developing Tax Consulting Service Market in Vietnam

PwC Vietnam and Ms. Dinh Thi Quynh Van, the General Director of PwC Vietnam, were honoured to receive the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for their achievements in building and developing tax consulting service market in Vietnam over the past 5 years, from 2008 to 2012. The Certificates of Merit were presented at the Second Term meeting of the Vietnam Tax Consultants’ Association held on 26 April 2013 at the office of the Ministry of Finance in Hanoi.

PwC is considered a leading tax consulting service provider in Vietnam. For nearly 20 years, PwC has provided consultancy on Vietnam’s tax policies and investment incentives to hundreds of foreign-owned and local enterprises companies. PwC has helped its clients to comply with the tax regulations of Vietnam through tax consulting services, provision of policy updates, and the tax declaration services. According to the report dated 3 May 2012 of the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA), PwC was amongst the Top 3 companies having the highest revenues from tax consulting services in Vietnam. PwC was amongst the first tax consulting firms to establish in Vietnam, and has made significant contributions to the development of the tax service and tax agent industry.

Talking about this honour, Ms. Van said, “We are delighted to receive such a valuable award which demonstrates the Government’s interest in and recognition of our contributions to the tax consulting industry and, importantly, to the growth of foreign investment and development of the Vietnamese economy. As an active member of the Vietnam Tax Consultants’ Association, PwC has joined hands with the Association and the tax consulting business community to contribute to developing the tax policy system of Vietnam, to improve efficiency and boost the development of the tax consulting industry.”

At the meeting, Ms. Van was re-elected to the Second Term Executive Committee of VTCA, in the position of Member of Executive Committee and Vice Chairwoman of VTCA. Another member of PwC, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang - Director of Tax Services, was also elected member of the Inspection Committee of VTCA.

PwC Vietnam wins Golden Dragon Award 2011

PwC Vietnam on 3 March 2012 won the 2011 Golden Dragon Award granted by the Vietnam Economic Times Newspaper at a ceremony held at Hanoi Opera House on the same day.
The Golden Dragon Award program was initiated by Vietnam Economic Times in 2000 and it has become a prestigious annual award celebrating foreign invested enterprises with great achievements and contributions to economic development of Vietnam.
PwC Vietnam is proud to win the Golden Dragon Award for four consecutive years from 2008. This is an honor to be recognised by the Vietnamese Government and the media. 2011 is also a fruitful year for PwC when we have achieved other national and international awards such as: Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of Vietnam for remarkable contributions for the development of the independent auditing profession in Vietnam. Ian Lydall, Chairman of the Board of Management of PwC Vietnam, is the only foreign auditor to receive an individual award. PwC Vietnam has proudly become the first firm in Vietnam to be approved as the Recognised Employer by CPA Australia, and also won the DealMakers Country Award and DealMakers End of Year Award for 2011.

PwC Vietnam - The 1st firm in Vietnam to be approved as the Recognised Employer for CPA Australia

PwC Vietnam has been awarded CPA Australia's Recognised Employer - knowledge level (the highest level from CPA Australia) for the period from 12 April 2011 to 12 April 2014.

We are also proud to note that we are the first firm in Vietnam to obtain this status. CPA Australia recognises our strong ongoing commitment to learning and development of our staff by supporting their professional development.

Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of Vietnam

Hanoi, 26 May 2011 – According to the Decision No 656 /QD- TTg dated 5 May 2011 and signed by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, three auditing firms and twelve individuals have been awarded the Certificate of Merit.

These awards have been made to recognise the great contribution by the firms and high achievements of the individuals in the development of the independent auditing profession in Vietnam for the period from 2006 - 2010.

PwC Vietnam was delighted to receive three awards in total. One award recognised PwC Vietnam's overall accomplishments and contribution to the development of Assurance. Our Chairman, Ian Lydall, was the only foreign auditor to receive the Prime Ministers accreditation and our Deputy General Director, Ms. Nguyen Phi Lan was also honoured with the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit.

These awards were officially announced on 26 May 2011 in Hanoi when VACPA and MOF celebrated the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of the independent auditing profession in Vietnam (1991 - 2011).

PwC Vietnam wins Golden Dragon Award 2010

This is the third consecutive year that PwC Vietnam won the Golden Dragon Award. Ms. Nguyen Phi Lan, Partner of Assurance Service of PwC Vietnam, represented the firm to receive the award at the ceremony. PwC Vietnam has won the Golden Dragon Award in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

 

PwC Vietnam wins 'Tax Disputes Firm of the Year' at the International Tax Review Asia Tax Awards 2010

PwC Vietnam was named ‘Tax Disputes Firm of the Year’ by leading tax industry publication International Tax Review (ITR) at its annual Asia Tax Awards.

ITR ranked PwC a ‘Tier 1’ firm in its World Tax 2011 publication, a comprehensive guide to the world’s leading tax firms and tax advisers, in which firms from 50 countries are categorised as either Tier 1, 2, 3 or 4 firms.

About International Tax Review Awards

The International Tax Review has established itself since 1990 as the world's most authoritative magazine dedicated to international tax strategy. Each issue includes comprehensive international news and analysis, unique guides to the most recent international deals, in-depth features, surveys, international updates and profiles.

The awards are presented to firms that demonstrate examples of the most innovative client work in the Asia-Pacific region between August 2009 and July 2010. The winners and runners-up will also be featured in the December/January 2011 issue of International Tax Review. PwC Vietnam has received a Golden Dragon Award 2008!

The Golden Dragon Competition is co-organised annually by the Vietnam Economic Times and the Foreign Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. The Vietnam Economic Times magazine is one of the country’s leading economic publications. Launched in 1992, it is now published in four different versions, and distributed in Europe, Asia and America. All versions poll their readers annually to select the best companies from 10 industries.

This year marks the first time that PwC participated in the Golden Dragon Competition as a candidate. PwC has been awarded a prestigious prize - given only to firms which make a notable contribution to foreign-invested businesses in Vietnam - for its contribution to the development of the local economy. 

Winners of the annual Golden Dragon Awards are selected based on votes by readers of the Vietnam Economic Times and the organising board, under stringent criteria. The board consists of leaders from key public agencies such as the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Union of Vietnam Scientific and Technological Associations, and the Vietnam Economic Times.
 

PwC Ranked as Global Leader in Business Advisory Services and Management Consulting, According to Kennedy

Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory, the leading research and advisory firm, has ranked PwC number one in Business Advisory Services and Management Consulting in its Global Consulting Marketplace 2008-2011 report. PwC was also placed third in the Human Resources Consulting practice area according to the study. The annual report reflects Kennedy’s analysis of the global consulting marketplace, estimated at approximately $300 billion in 2007.
