Our legal advisory practice started in 1970 when our first lawyer was retained as a permanent member of our professional staff and took charge of various areas of commercial legislation. Through subsequent additions of law professionals to our staff, we formed a legal firm operating from within PricewaterhouseCoopers, and finally in 1988 we structured a separate legal entity under the name of Shaw, Faget & Asociados . The two individual names were those of PricewaterhouseCoopers attorneys and partners. Drawing on the strategic advantages of lawyers and accountants working as a multidisciplinary team, Shaw Faget & Asociados has enjoyed continued growth and is currently recognized as one of the largest legal firms with the best reputation in the area of business legislation in Uruguay. Shaw, Faget & Asociados also works in conjunction with correspondent legal firms within the PricewaterhouseCoopers organization throughout South America.
