Tim Carey is a Partner in the San Jose office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He is the Leader of the firm's Cleantech Practice and also works extensively in PwC's Semiconductor Group. In addition, Tim serves as the Industry Leader for the Technology Center of Excellence. Prior to joining the San Jose office, Tim spent two years on an international assignment and has extensive experience working in Europe and Asia.
Tim has worked with numerous small, mid and large cap public companies and has served as the lead Engagement Partner on nine IPOs and numerous other debt and equity offerings. Tim also has significant experience with M&A transactions ranging from acquisitions, spin-offs, and divestitures to complex joint ventures and strategic investments.
In addition to client work, Tim speaks regularly to outside groups on a variety of topics including corporate governance, revenue recognition, accounting for stock-based compensation, and initial public offerings. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors and on the Advisory Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - South Bay.
Tim received a Bachelor's degree in Financial Administration from Michigan State University in 1987 and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Michigan in 1992. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Michigan and California Associations of Certified Public Accountants.
