MoneyTree™ Q4 2011 US Cleantech venture funding summary

The Clean Technology sector saw funding of $1.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2011, a 50 percent increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2010. This brought the year's total venture capital investments in the cleantech industry to $4.3 billion, according to the MoneyTreeTM Report by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association, based on data from Thomson Reuters. Silicon Valley received the most funding in the fourth quarter, as did the solar energy and transportation subsectors of the industry.
