Talking Tax executive webcast series
Thursday, July 17, 2014
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm (EDT)

Hosted by PwC's Industrial Products & Services Practice, the webcast will discuss:

  • The latest insights regarding emerging tax legislative and regulatory matters: As we move into summer, our panelists will discuss the upcoming challenges facing Congress and the Obama administration regarding corporate tax legislative matters. In addition to analyzing recent US tax legislative developments, they will address the potential impacts of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s base erosion and profit shifting project.
  • Potential tax implications of the new revenue recognition standard: The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) on May 28 published their long-awaited joint revenue recognition standard titled "Revenue from Contracts with Customers" (Topic 606 and IFRS 15). Although the US tax law contains specific rules with respect to the recognition of revenue for tax purposes, there are certain instances in which revenue recognition for tax purposes depends on revenue recognition for financial accounting purposes. In these instances, the new standard could have significant US tax implications.

Using employment structures to manage complexity in global mobility
Thursday, July 31, 2014
11:00 am - 12:15 pm (EDT)

Employee mobility is set to increase by 50% by 2020. Along with an increase in the volume of moves, the type and complexity of moves is changing significantly as well. Organizations are sending people on a wider range of assignments than ever before (commuter, local plus, back to back, virtual assignments, global nomads, rotators etc) and often this fluid mobility brings additional complexity around compensation management and reporting, management of corporate tax and PE risks, employee benefits provision and social security as well as income tax compliance. Companies are looking for a model that can deliver simplicity across these complex employee groups. As a solution, more and more organizations are considering the use of a single employment structure or entity to house their mobile employees. Please join our Global Mobility Tax and Consulting professionals for a panel discussion as we consider these structures and how we see them being used in the market. We will aim to answer the following questions:

  • What is a global employment company/structure?
  • How can global employment companies/structures manage risk and deliver simplicity?
  • How effective are they? How do I know if it is right for my organization?
  • What are the challenges that I need to consider when looking at an employment structure for my mobile employees?
  • How do I move this all forward in a way that will benefit my organization and mobility program?
