Joni Geuther is a Principal in the New York office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has over twelve years of experience as an international tax practitioner. Joni is a leading member of the International Tax Financial Services practice in New York and is specialized in Investment Management, Real Estate and Infrastructure. Among her clients are the leading Hedge Fund, Private Equity Funds, Infrastructure Funds and Real Estate Funds for which she consults on the international tax aspects of investments around the world, advising on the U.S. international tax aspects and non U.S. tax regimes. She is a leading member of PwC’s Capital Projects and Infrastructure team and in such a role advises on the structuring of global infrastructure funds and the structuring of cross border transactions in the infrastructure space focusing on managing effective tax rates, incentives for infrastructure assets, repatriation techniques and exit strategies. Her consulting also includes advice on formation of management companies and carry planning. She has specialized expertise on a broad range of asset classes, industries and international regions. In addition, Joni advises her clients on the potential of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

Before specializing in the Financial Services Practice, Joni built her strong international tax background as a key member of the firm’s multi-disciplinary “European Tax Group” and “Inbound Group” in New York assisting U.S. and non U.S multinational corporations with their U.S. and European operations consulting on efficient solutions for cross border international tax structuring opportunities, including matters related to mergers and acquisitions, financing, Pan-European restructuring and repatriation techniques.

She frequently makes presentations to professional audiences on international tax issues and contributes articles to various magazines and organizations. She received her Master's degree in Taxation from the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) and her Masters degree in Civil Law from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands).
