Gautam is a director on our India Tax desk in New York. He has over 11 years of experience in tax consulting and compliance, and has been involved on advising clients on domestic and international issues covering corporate taxation, India's foreign direct investment policy, transfer pricing, expatriates taxation and Foreign exchange regulations.
Gautam has handled clients across industries, including Information Technology, Retail, Real Estate, Financial Services, Engineering & Construction, Entertainment, Energy and Education. He has worked with clients in devising entry strategies for their Indian activities, structuring investment platforms and developing tax efficient exit strategies. He has also been actively involved in planning cross border transactions involving the use of tax treaties and consulting on mergers and acquisitions. He has advised clients on structuring contracts from a tax perspective, and in assessing tax holidays and cash extraction opportunities. He has also assisted clients in making representations during Revenue audits in India. He has represented clients at appellate levels and assisted in matters before the Authority for Advance Rulings in India.
Gautam frequently authors articles in business dailies and has spoken on tax topics at various events. He is a Commerce graduate and a Chartered Accountant (India).
