Illinois legislature passes tax package, includes credit extensions and tax tribunal


Update: Governor Quinn signed SB 397 on December 16, 2011

The Illinois General Assembly passed two bills (SB 397 and SB 400) that, in addition to extending credits and providing tax incentives to certain taxpayers, would grant an Independent Tax Tribunal Board jurisdiction to hear protests in place of the Department of Revenue. The bills have been sent to Governor Pat Quinn, who has indicated that he will sign them. [S.B. 397, SB 400, sent to Governor, 12/15/2011]
