California Governor signs law imposing sales tax collection responsibility on remote sellers

On June 29, 2011, California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill requiring certain retailers to collect taxes on remote sales. In general, the bill includes a click-through nexus provision and language granting the State Board of Equalization authority to impose nexus requirements to the fullest extent allowable under the U.S. Constitution.
