Joe DeVita is a New York-based partner in PwC’s Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) technology enablement practice where he works with clients to improve and optimize controls around the financial reporting process and manages PwC's alliance with GRC software vendors to develop protocols and tools to automate various risk and compliance activities. Joe assists clients in developing frameworks and consolidated system governance for integrating risk and compliance initiatives (including Sarbanes-Oxley readiness/optimization) and he specializing in the selection and implementation of Oracle applications including Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle GRC Suite.
Joe has over twenty-one years of IT development, implementation and project management experience and has counseled many of the firm's key clients in the complex issues surrounding business process and risk management, IT controls and Security and governance reviews. He has worked with clients to custom-develop and deploy solutions to facilitate various processes not captured in the core ERP environments, to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring alignment with the organizational business objectives, strategy and risks, to use control activities to drive process improvement and enhanced business value, and to respond to changing business climate with clearly defined policies and procedures that take into account legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
Joe is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP). He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from American University in Washington, D.C.
