An apparel client’s internal audit department was concerned that it did not have visibility into the risks and operational effectiveness of its global sourcing operations in China. The client engaged PwC to conduct a supply chain risk assessment.
PwC created a multi-faceted team of internal audit, forensic services, and supply chain risk operations specialists to perform a risk assessment to identify risks related to the global sourcing function and determine the priority locations and areas of focus for future auditing procedures. The PwC team identified significant risks in the company’s supply chain, and developed proposed action plans based on those risks.
Client has identified the significant risks in its international supply chain and will be able to realize potential operational efficiencies, as well as manage reputation risks related to potential misconduct risks in the supply chain.
