Tax Strategy Leader
David Zimmerman is the US Private Company Services (PCS) Tax Strategy Leader, a tax partner in the firm’s Tampa office and leader of PCS’s Florida practice. As the Tax Strategy Leader, David sets the direction for and approach to driving PwC's comprehensive tax offerings across the national PCS practice. Such offerings include federal, state and local income tax compliance and planning, state tax consulting, tax controversy and audit representation and international tax planning around issues such as VAT, foreign tax credits, transfer pricing, US and global tax structures.
Bringing significant experience to the role, David has consulted with a diverse scope of clients on tax issues ranging from U.S. corporate income tax, international tax, state and local taxation, mergers and acquisition planning, due diligence analysis, to tax minimization strategies. In addition, as a result of his work with several SEC clients over the years, David has hands-on experience with tax accounting issues. He is also experienced in dealing with the IRS and state and local tax authorities on income tax audits, audit appeals and other tax administrative matters.
David received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland as well as a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Villanova University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida and a member of the Florida and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.
