Award marks PwC Philadelphia’s fourth consecutive year to be named a Top Workplace
Philadelphia, March 18, 2013 – PwC’s Philadelphia office is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of Philly.com’s Top Workplaces in 2013, making it the firm’s fourth consecutive year to be featured as a Top Workplace in the region. This year, PwC was ranked #3, alongside a number of other distinguished and esteemed companies in the area.
At the Philadelphia office, 1,400 employees all work collaboratively together to create the value that their clients, organizations and individuals, look for. The PwC U.S. firm is a member of the PwC network of firms in 158 countries with more than 180,000 people, focused on providing audit and assurance, as well as tax and consulting services for its clients. Specifically in the Philadelphia region, PwC concentrates on 16 key industries and offers targeted services that include, but are not limited to, human resources, deals, forensics, and consulting services.
“We are honored to be named one of the Top Workplaces in the Philadelphia region for the fourth year in a row. We strongly believe that the workplace environment is an integral part of creating a successful organization and is a critical measurement of a company’s health,” said Ed Lovelidge, Managing Partner of PwC’s Philadelphia Metro Market. “I want to congratulate each of our employees at the firm on this award and thank them for their ongoing dedication, tenacity and initiative to always set the bar high for our clients. It is our people who ultimately make the firm such a great place to work.”
PwC’s Philadelphia employees have access to various initiatives and Leadership Programs, which work to ensure the retention and success of talented employees, as well as various opportunities throughout the year to serve the community. Every year, the Philadelphia office ensures that it recruits the best and brightest college graduates and has hired over 400 college students this year through its intensive college recruitment initiatives.
As the firm’s most valuable asset is its people and because of the wide-range of services it provides for financial markets, it has a vested interest in the financial literacy of our nation’s youth. In June 2012, PwC U.S. launched PwC's Earn Your Future—an investment of $60 million in cash donations and one million volunteer hours to address youth education with a focus on financial literacy. This commitment will reach more than 2.5 million students and educators in the United States over the next five years. In Philadelphia, we will volunteer over 8,800 hours for the Earn Your Future program.
Every year, The Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and Philly.com partners work with WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pennsylvania to ask employees around the region to provide feedback on their organizational environment including their thoughts on management, compensation and the facilitation of new ideas. The final product of the survey is the publications’ annual list of Top 100 Workplaces, which comprises the highest-ranked large, mid-sized and small organizations.
WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 37 major publishing partners and recognizes a list of 150 National Top Workplaces. Over the past year, more than 5,000 organizations and 1 in every 88 employees in the U.S. have turned to WorkplaceDynamics to better understand what’s on the minds of their employees.
