White brings over 25 years of experience in the security and law enforcement field to PwC
NEW YORK, June 7, 2013 – PwC US today announced that Charles R. White has joined the firm’s Advisory practice as a director. In his new role, he will be responsible for helping clients address complex cyber security investigations, reduce risks related to operating in cyber space, and solve cyber security issues leveraging his extensive experience in U.S. law enforcement.
PwC believes cybersecurity is more than an IT challenge – it is a business imperative. In order to mitigate risks, organizations should establish an on-going capability to provide insight and intelligence on the cyberthreats facing their business. Armed with this insight, PwC finds that business leaders can anticipate and dynamically react to changes in their companies’ cyber threat profile.
“Charles is a valuable addition to our team with his profound industry knowledge, as well as the depth and range of his experience in the security and law enforcement field,” said David Burg, PwC principal in the firm’s U.S. Advisory practice focused on cybercrime. “We welcome Charles to our cybersecurity team, and look forward to working with him to help our clients mitigate the risk of cyber threats across the business ecosystem.”
Based in San Francisco, White was previously a law enforcement executive with comprehensive experience successfully leading global financial crimes investigations. He is a specialist in building and supervising highly effective teams for large-scale domestic and international operations. White has a demonstrated track record with security risk mitigation, crisis management, and continuity of operations in high-threat environments.
White worked with the United States Secret Service for over 25 years and held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, both domestically and abroad. Prior to joining PwC, he was an Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the San Francisco Field Office where he planned, directed, and implemented Secret Service operations in Northern and Central California. White also previously worked as a Special Agent in Charge for the Office of Administration; prior to that, he was an Assistant Special Agent in Charge with the Presidential Protective Division.
White holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
