Firm’s commitment to creating family-friendly policy & culture recognized for 18th year
NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2012 — PwC US has been named in the top ten of the 2012 Working Mother 100 Best Companies list for the ninth consecutive year. PwC was inducted into Working Mother's "100 Best" Hall of Fame three years ago and has now appeared 18 times in this prominent benchmark for work-life practices in corporate America.
“We are honored that Working Mother continues to recognize our commitment to supporting our working parents,” says Maria Castañón Moats, PwC’s Chief Diversity Officer. “At PwC, we believe you can have a successful career and be fully committed to your family simultaneously. We are always looking for new ways to meet the flexibility needs of our people so they can properly manage their lives at home and at work."
PwC continues to address the needs of working parents through a wide array of progressive workplace programs including best-in-class parental leave, emergency backup child- and eldercare, sabbaticals, and networking circles, among other family-friendly benefits.
Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media, says, “This year’s 100 Best Companies are leading the way for the rest of the nation. They have created not only essential benefits, like flexible work options and telecommuting, but have also shown their commitment in new ways like elder care referral and legal assistance to help busy parents manage their personal lives as well as their careers.”
PwC will be recognized at the Working Mother 100 Best Companies Gala Awards Dinner on October 10th at the Marriott Marquis in NYC. The event is part of the Work Life Congress annual conference held from October 8th -10th. PwC's award will be accepted by Lori Driscoll, Managing Director, who was nominated by PwC staff as the firm's Working Mother of the Year.
In addition to the Working Mother list, PwC has been recognized for its people initiatives in other ways. PwC ranked No.1 on the 2012 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list, and was recently named to the 2012 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
