PwC US technology leader Tom Archer to deliver keynote on innovation practices for c-suite executives at technology services world 2012 best practices conference

NEW YORK, New York, May 7, 2012 – PwC US today announced that Tom Archer, U.S. technology industry leader of the firm, will deliver a keynote address at the Technology Services World (TSW) 2012 Best Practices conference, hosted by the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA). The keynote will take place on Tuesday, May 8 at 9:00 AM PST and will explore how C-suite executives are innovating practices as cloud computing-based services continue to reshape the industry. TSW 2012 Best Practices will take place May 7-9 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

With innovation considered the key driver of growth and revenue for today’s C-suite executives, Mr. Archer will offer insights into how these executives are positioning their companies to capitalize on two overarching trends—the “consumerization of technology” and the rise of "As-A-Service" models, that are more customer-centric and service-oriented.

“To address today’s marketplace, innovative technology companies are adapting how they go to market, reconfiguring processes and, at times, entire operating models,” said PwC’s Archer. “Traditional hardware, software and network companies must make the financial transition from an upfront product revenue recognition model to a recurring services revenue model. These trends have a significant impact on company financial models and must be rigorously planned.”

Tom Archer, based in San Jose, is a partner in PwC’s Advisory services practice.  Additionally, Mr. Archer serves as PwC's US leader for the firm’s digital transformation initiative.  He has served multinational technology companies for more than 20 years and has spent the past ten years in the Bay Area serving public and venture backed companies in business transformation initiatives such as business model design and assessment, price modeling and license fulfillment architecture design, merger integration and divestiture management, finance and business process improvement, risk management and auditing and accounting. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
