Grants to US colleges and universities support curriculum development, research and diversity efforts
New York, June 13, 2012 –PwC US has announced $520,000 in new funding for 52 universities in the United States. The grants are being awarded through the PwC INQuires program (substantially from the PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc. in addition to funds from the firm) to help domestic colleges and universities incorporate important updates and issues facing the accounting profession into their curricula. Grants will also help fund diversity initiatives as well as applied research projects conducted by faculty.
“We are so proud to be able to support a wide array of universities through these donations,” said Paula Loop, US and Global Talent leader for PwC. “PwC understands the critical role education plays in developing the next generation of leaders and we are excited that this funding will help create new opportunities for students within the accounting profession."
This funding builds upon the firm’s commitment to advance youth education in communities across the nation. Since 2007, PwC and its staff have contributed more than $59 million to colleges, universities and student-focused programs. In addition, the firm has worked with leading nonprofit organizations to strengthen youth education nationally and locally including Feeding America, MIND Research Institute, Junior Achievement and United Way.
