The 2012 Cultural awareness & inclusion scorecard (CAIS) is designed to measure the rich diversity and inclusion efforts found within the law firm industry. Developed in 2009 with input from our PwC cultural transformations advisory group, diverse attorneys and organizations, and outside law firms, the CAIS provides a benchmarking program designed to assist law firms in evaluating their diversity efforts relative to other firms.
Timing: Data forms are due on May 31, 2012. Results will be distributed on June 29, 2012.
Fees: $500 for one comparison group ordered from each section of the survey. Law firms that participate in both sections of the survey will be billed at the discounted rate of $750. Additional discounts are provided to past CAIS participants and law firms that participate in one of our other Survey offerings.
Why you should participate
- Detailed geographic and practice group specific gender and minority statistics for law firm timekeepers in the areas of headcount, utilization, promotion and turnover.
- A comprehensive evaluation of your firm's diversity efforts in the areas of leadership, programs/initiatives, recruitment, retention and client management.
- Two 'spotlight' areas focused on the recruitment and advancement of self-identified LGBT individuals and individuals with a disability.
- Benchmarking data - available at the individual office and practice group level - that will enable your firm to manage and monitor your billable workload allocation to ensure women and minorities have equal access on top client matters and quality work assignments.
- Review of your firm's results by a team of Survey resources experienced in identifying where your firm may improve in expanding the diversity initiatives and opportunities within your firm.
- Reduced participation fees if your firm submits data to both sections of the survey.
- Ability to 'customize' comparison groups to fit the needs of your firm: participants can choose to benchmark their firm, office or practice group to a list of their peers or competitors.
