Company explores strategies for entering video services market

A major telecom recognized that competing on volume and price with its video services would not be sufficient to compete. They turned to PwC telecom professionals to help them innovate around how to maximize their advanced distribution capabilities and seek innovate programming options. PwC met with advertisers, content owners, networks and distribution companies, then conducted an Innovation Workshop for the executives of the company's video programming team, and challenged them with four scenarios for the coming year. As a result of PwC's work, the executives identified new themes for competing against entrenched cable and satellite TV operators, which became part of their overall business plan for eventual roll-out.
