    Robert is PwC's US Engineering & Construction tax leader and in charge of the Richmond tax practice. He has 22 years of tax consulting experience serving a broad spectrum of clients ranging from large multinational corporations with operations in over 65 countries to mid-size domestically focused companies. Robert currently serves as the lead tax partner on a number of large public and private multinational corporations primarily involved in the consumer and industrial products manufacturing. Robert's areas of specialty include Federal tax planning, tax provision accounting, international tax structuring, foreign repatriation planning, IRS audit controversy and merger/acquisition planning. Robert currently serves as the Engineering and Construction national tax leader.

    Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Masters of Taxation from Brigham Young University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

    Derek joined PwC in 2001 and specializes in assisting clients on a wide variety of construction related issues. Prior to joining PwC, Derek had over seven years of project management experience in the construction industry, and he applies his diverse knowledge of the construction industry and its dynamics while serving clients in many different industries.

    At PwC, Derek assists clients with a wide array of construction-related issues such as project operational evaluations, contract profitability assessments, analysis of change orders and claims, project oversight and monitoring, project controls assessments and development, investigation of cost over-runs, and litigation support. He has provided his expertise to numerous project teams that cross many lines of service, including PwC's government contracting, insurance claims, corporate recovery, investigations, internal audit and assurance practices. Derek’s clients include construction contractors and subcontractors, government contractors, and project owners.

    While in industry, Derek performed project management, contract procurement, cost estimating, project administration, change order and claims analysis, field supervisory, and CPM scheduling functions. He has first-hand experience with site preparation, demolition, utility relocation, mass-transit, viaducts, and tunnel work in congested urban environments. Additionally, Derek has experience working at nuclear power stations and manufacturing environments which he gained while pursuing his undergraduate degree.

    Mike is currently in our Private Company Services assurance practice. Mike is a CPA and has 12 years of experience in public accounting. Mike started his career in the Hartford, CT office of PwC, recently completed a two-year tour in PwC's National Office in Florham Park, NJ and has now relocated to PwC's Greater Michigan practice. Mike's primary focus during his career has been in the construction industry working with companies who offer diversified services (including those companies that offer full design-build services), including general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, and government contractors.

    While on tour in the National Office, Mike was a member of the accounting consulting services team focused on revenue recognition, as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He served as National Office technical liaison for the Engineering & Construction industry assisting companies, public and private, with complex, industry-specific technical matters. He has also authored several internal and external articles and has given numerous market presentations relating to the E&C industry. Mike also served as the firm’s project manager for its global working group assessing the joint FASB/IASB revenue recognition project and is currently co-chair of the AICPA's revenue recognition task force.

    Mike has a B.S. and M.S. in accounting from the University of Connecticut. He is professionally affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) where he serves as an at-large national director.
