Allen is a Partner with PwC in the Dallas office. He has more than 17 years of experience providing tax planning and compliance in both public accounting and industry. He has extensive experience providing tax consultation related to companies with multi-state and international activity, as well as tax planning for business formations, acquisition structuring, internal revenue service dispute resolution and analysis, and ASC 740.
Allen has worked extensively with clients across industries including engineering & construction, retail, technology, aerospace & defense, and entertainment & media. Prior to joining PwC, he worked as a Tax Manager in the tax department of a multinational company providing tax planning and compliance services. He also worked with another Big Four accounting firm specializing in the real estate industry with a focus on real estate investment trusts, partnership taxation and tax planning.
Allen holds a Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting and a Master’s in Professional Accounting in Taxation from The University of Texas. He is a CPA licensed to practice in Texas. He is a member of the AICPA and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
John serves as PwC’s US Engineering & Construction Advisory Leader. He has over 35 years of experience in industry and expertise in the areas of strategic planning, large capital program management, project risk assessment, project bidding, buyout optimization, project execution improvement, supply chain management, strategic planning and IT management, and application implementation.
Prior to PwC, John served as the engagement lead for several engineering and construction firms as well as trade contractors and supporting suppliers. These engagements focused on operational assessment and improvement, strategic planning, and IT implementation, and resulted in significant improvement in his clients’ profitability. John has worked with Engineering Construction firms in both US and Middle East, and has performed sitting studies and has consulted to firms on the execution of large construction projects in a range of industries. These include: petroleum refining, power generation (nuclear and conventional), power transmission, and infrastructure.
John received his BS Degree in Geology from Boston College, a Master of Science in Geology from Dartmouth College, and an MBA from Boston University’s Graduate School of Business.
Meta is an Assurance partner, currently serving as PwC’s U.S. Engineering & Construction Assurance Leader. Since joining the Firm in St. Louis, Missouri, she has spent the majority of her career providing auditing and advisory services to manufacturing, distribution and services clients in a variety of industries. Meta’s experience includes clients in both the public and private sectors. The acquisitive nature of Meta’s clients has exposed her to a wide range of accounting and SEC reporting issues, including experience with initial public offerings. Her client experience has also allowed her to provide an array of transaction-based services. In addition to initial and secondary public offerings, Meta has helped clients execute refinancing transactions, spin-offs, and complete significant acquisitions and divestitures.
Meta has also performed a secondment in the Firm’s National Office in Florham Park, New Jersey, primarily providing advice to engagement teams on the Firm's largest national and multi-national clients on technical accounting matters. She specializes in the technical areas of restructuring and impairment, discontinued operations, consolidations, segment reporting, and business combinations.
Meta has served clients in a variety of industries in both the public and private sectors. Her clients include or have included: a provider of planning, design, engineering, technical, construction and program management services to private and governmental clients throughout the world; an independent supplier of composite structures for civil and military aircraft; an international aerospace, defense and electronics company; a provider of overhaul and repair services for aircraft landing gear to commercial airlines, cargo carriers, and the U.S. government; a full service provider of electric energy and natural gas; and operating companies of a private equity fund in differing core industry groups in approximately 30 states, among others.
Mike serves as an assurance Partner in our Private Company Services Practice. He recently completed a two-year tour in PwC's National Office in Florham Park, NJ and has now relocated to PwC's Detroit, MI office. While on tour in the National Office, Mike was a member of the Accounting Consulting Services team focused on Revenue Recognition, as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Mike served as the firm’s project manager for its global working group assessing the Joint FASB/IASB Revenue Recognition Project.
Mike has extensive experience, and has spent his entire career, in the construction, automotive and manufacturing industries, working only with private companies having operations locally, nationally and globally. He currently serves as our US Firm's engineering and construction technical specialist and client service advisor. He is a widely recognized expert by these industries, is a frequent contributor to thought leadership, and is often sought after to provide advice and views on a variety of industry topics.
Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was the co-chairmen of the AICPA's Revenue Recognition Task Force from 2010 to 2012, and serves as the at-large National Director, National Emerging Issues Vice-Chair, and Detroit Chapter President of the Construction Financial Management Association. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting at the University of Connecticut.
