H. Kent Goetjen
Kent is an assurance partner in PwC's Hartford office and is the firm’s US Engineering & Construction industry sector leader. He has over 30 years experience providing service to the engineering and construction sector. Kent's clients have included heavy and highway contractors, general building contractors, subcontractors, home builders, specialty contractors, suppliers and real estate developers.
Kent's experience encompasses many complex transactions including construction joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions and mergers. He has also been involved as an expert witness in a number of complex construction disputes. Kent has extensive experience in providing auditing and accounting services, development of accounting systems, review and improvement of internal control systems and numerous other consultative services including business plan development, cash flow analysis, contract claims consultation and reviews and other business advisory services.
Kent graduated from Bryant University, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. Kent is licensed to practice in ten states. He is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association National Board of directors and serves on the national accounting and reporting and the tax and legislative affairs committees. Kent is also active in Associated General Contractors of Connecticut, the University of Hartford Construction Institute and is involved in various other industry associations.
Allen is a Partner with PwC in the Dallas office. He has more than 17 years of experience providing tax planning and compliance in both public accounting and industry. He has extensive experience providing tax consultation related to companies with multi-state and international activity, as well as tax planning for business formations, acquisition structuring, internal revenue service dispute resolution and analysis, and ASC 740.
Allen has worked extensively with clients across industries including engineering & construction, retail, technology, aerospace & defense, and entertainment & media. Prior to joining PwC, he worked as a Tax Manager in the tax department of a multinational company providing tax planning and compliance services. He also worked with another Big Four accounting firm specializing in the real estate industry with a focus on real estate investment trusts, partnership taxation and tax planning.
Allen holds a Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting and a Master’s in Professional Accounting in Taxation from The University of Texas. He is a CPA licensed to practice in Texas. He is a member of the AICPA and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
John is an assurance partner in the San Francisco office and also serves as the US Engineering & Construction Assurance Leader, the Market Team Leader for San Francisco’s CIPS audit team, and the Industrial Products sector’s client experience program lead.
John has spent the majority of his career working on large multinational clients in the engineering and construction, technology, and entertainment and media industries. He started his career and made partner in San Francisco, and then worked in the firm's Tokyo and New York offices before returning to San Francis
He has been involved with numerous public offerings, acquisitions, and divestitures, including the carve-out and spin-off/IPO of Agilent Technologies from Hewlett-Packard, the carve-out and sale of IBM’s computer business to Lenovo, and the acquisition of EMI Music Publishing by a consortium led by Sony, among other significant transactions. John also has significant experience in Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls implementations, assessments and remediation efforts, SEC reporting and disclosure, joint venture structuring and accounting, and tax matters.
John graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California and New York Societies of Certified Public Accountants.
Mike serves as an assurance Partner in our Private Company Services Practice. He recently completed a two-year tour in PwC's National Office in Florham Park, NJ and has now relocated to PwC's Detroit, MI office. While on tour in the National Office, Mike was a member of the Accounting Consulting Services team focused on Revenue Recognition, as well as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Mike served as the firm’s project manager for its global working group assessing the Joint FASB/IASB Revenue Recognition Project.
Mike has extensive experience, and has spent his entire career, in the construction, automotive and manufacturing industries, working only with private companies having operations locally, nationally and globally. He currently serves as our US Firm's engineering and construction technical specialist and client service advisor. He is a widely recognized expert by these industries, is a frequent contributor to thought leadership, and is often sought after to provide advice and views on a variety of industry topics.
Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was the co-chairmen of the AICPA's Revenue Recognition Task Force from 2010 to 2012, and serves as the at-large National Director, National Emerging Issues Vice-Chair, and Detroit Chapter President of the Construction Financial Management Association. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting at the University of Connecticut.
