PwC has released the 2015 Health and Well-being Touchstone Survey results. The 2015 survey data contains detailed benefits information provided by over 1,150 participating companies in 36 different industries across the nation. PwC's annual Touchstone Survey is one of the most comprehensive studies available on benefit plans offered by US-based employers.

In the face of rising healthcare costs and the challenging regulatory requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employers remain committed to providing benefits. However, at the same time they are re-evaluating their benefit strategies, incorporating traditional cost shifting approaches with new network and design strategies while offering more employee choice in order to better engage employees, accelerate consumerism, and promote wellness in an effort to finally bend the healthcare cost curve. Over 60% of employers have either implemented or are considering implementing high deductible health plans as the only option to employees over the next 3 years, while 87% are committed to worksite wellness programs. Additionally, in an effort to offset the cost impacts of ACA, 44% of employers are considering private exchanges, and over 50% are considering a defined contribution approach to healthcare. Employers continue to no longer take a "wait and see" approach, but are being more aggressive in moving toward longer term benefit solutions.

PwC's annual Touchstone Survey is one of the most comprehensive studies available on benefit plans offered by US-based employers. PwC conducted the 2015 survey, the eighth in the annual series, to uncover and keep track of key trends around benefit program strategy, design and administration.

The 2015 survey provides summary data on medical, prescription drug, and dental plan design, costs, COBRA rates, wellness and disease management programs, work-life programs, fringe benefits, future healthcare strategies, retirement benefits and healthcare reform.
