The EU’s proposal to cap bankers’ bonuses as part of CRDIV – the EU’s Basel III implementation – advanced on March 5, 2013. The Economic and Financial Affairs Council agreed to its key terms, joining other EU negotiating bodies who reached a similar consensus last week. EU Banks should now be planning for the consequences of a January 1, 2014 implementation date.
