The recently published instructions for the 2013 Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, contain a number of notable updates to the CCAR process, including:

  • Alignment with and incorporation of various regulatory requirements including the FRB Capital Plan Rule;
  • The FRB stress testing rules implementing portions of the Dodd-Frank Act; and
  • The proposed US implementation of the Basel III framework.
