PwC University for Faculty
PwC University for Faculty is an educational program delivered to faculty from around the country annually during the summer. The purpose of the program is to provide professors with a current perspective of the profession with three key objectives:
- Provide faculty with a technical update on current developments;
- Provide faculty with an opportunity to participate in the same learning experiences as PwC professionals;
- Provide faculty with the opportunity to network with fellow educators and PwC professionals.
The program has been held since 2004. We are pleased that we have had such outstanding faculty participation over the years!
Faculty participated in the same learning experiences as our PwC professionals. Members from PwC's Learning & Education and National Professional Services teams, along with external presenters work closely together to achieve our program objectives.
The response from faculty has been extremely positive and the following are just a sample of the comments that faculty have shared with us:
- "I will take so much back to the classroom - technical information and presentation skills. Also, talking with PwC personnel gives me a lot to tell my students about real life."
- "I will be better able to describe the importance of community service and teamwork in the professional accounting environment."
- "The Music Paradigm session was one of the most powerful experiences I have had in my life, not just this conference. The analogies to academe were way beyond anything you imagined or stated."
- "I have a better understanding of the changing environment in which my students will be working."
- "It was great that the PwC partners served as commentators and offered their real world observations."
- "The case studies laid out a logical approach to assessing, researching, and resolving an issue, including the all-important concept of collaboration with one's peers."
- "Relationships, not just knowledge, were a key part of the learning experience."
- "The most valuable aspect for me was the opportunity to hear top people in the industry talking about the state and future of the profession."
- "Going through the learning experiences energizes faculty when they return to campus."
- "I am a better teacher for this experience."
