The Plan to Help Responsible Homeowners and Heal the Housing Market was announced by President Obama on February 1st, 2012 as a comprehensive plan to reform the housing market, expanding on the Blueprint for an America Built to Last, which was unveiled during his 2012 State of the Union address.

While the plan was recently unveiled, many of the individual components of the plan date back much further to prior government initiatives, several of which are already underway or in the process of implementation through a combination of efforts from the Administration and other industry participants.

This point-of-view assesses the likelihood and impact of the various components of the plan and the impact these components have or are likely to have on mortgage servicers.
