Q&A

  • Q: Describe your involvement with the Chartered Accountancy Program in Singapore.

A: There is a long-standing program between Singapore and Sydney for the Chartered Accountancy Program. Several Associates who prove themselves as high performers and have the support of their partners are encouraged to attend the program. It is a unique program in the sense that at other firms, global mobility assignments are for those at a more senior level or for a longer period of time.

  • Q: What is your favorite aspect of PwC’s global culture?

A: The unanimous support and encouragement I receive. My partners in Singapore highly encouraged me to participate in the global mobility assignment program in Sydney, as they had both done when they were Associates. They continued to provide me with feedback and advice long after Sydney. Both of them attended my wedding in Singapore and they are lifelong mentors.

  • Q: How was your experience in Australia?

A: It was tough at first as I had never been away from home for such an extended period of time, but the network had made the transition easier. There were other secondees from Singapore who truly took care of us. The professional experience was invaluable and we worked with people from all over the world.

  • Q: Are you enjoying your current assignment in New York?

A: I had a really great experience in Sydney, and I wanted to replicate that experience with another PwC firm somewhere else and see more of the world. It has been an amazing experience so far in New York, and I am so happy to be here.

  • Q: Would you say PwC has helped you grow as a person?

A: I have definitely grown to be a much stronger and more confident person. After my international travels, I feel like there is nothing I can’t get through.
