USLT Shadow Experience

Select interns spent the day building relationships with members of our US Leadership Team, including Bob Moritz, US Chairman and Senior Partner. This experience provides interns the opportunity to understand leadership’s vision for PwC US and see the PwC Experience through leadership’s eyes.

  1. Maria Castanon- Moats - US Chief Diversity Officer

Los Angeles Assurance intern Arvin spent the day shadowing Maria Castanon-Moats, US Chief Diversity Officer. He observed Maria presenting on a global webcast as well as discussing the firm's diversity strategy with leadership. Maria shared several pieces of advice during the day including "being a sponge and continuing to learn" as well as “collaborating, sharing ideas, staying positive, and having a great work ethic”. This was an invaluable experience for Arvin early in his career.

  2. Terri McClements - US Human Capital Leader

Brett, a Minneapolis Assurance intern, travelled to New York City to spend the day with Terri McClements, US Human Capital Leader. Brett had the opportunity to attend the Global Town Hall meeting and see Dennis Nally, Global Chairman, present on the future vision of PwC. He also noted, how "busy Terri was and how easy she made it look to juggle everything on her plate". Another important take-away for Brett was that " leadership at the firm truly care about all of the employees and goes to great lengths to improve the professional and personal lives of its people. Flexibility and professional development are key at PwC."

  3. US Services Leader

Dan Todd, an Advisory intern from the Lake Erie market, had the opportunity to spend a day with US Advisory Leader Dana Mcilwain. During his experience, Dan spent time in meetings, on conference calls, and even got to sit down and ask questions one-on-one of Dana. A very important component of PwC's Internship Experience is providing interns the opportunity to shadow PwC professionals in their daily tasks to better understand what work on a client team can be like. Dan describes his day with Dana as the highlight of his summer internship - a truly humbling experience that helped him better understand the day-to-day responsibilities of a firm leader.

  4. US Assurance Leader

As part of PwC's Internship Experience, a select group of interns had the opportunity to shadow a member of the US Leadership Team. Erica Esguerra, an Assurance intern from the Southern California market, was one of those interns. Erica was given the opportunity to spend a day with US Assurance Leader Tim Ryan. Erica joined as Tim hosted Webcasts, attended engagement team meetings, and the two even spent quality discussion time while stuck in traffic in a New York City cab on their way to a meeting with one of the city's largest banks. For Erica it was an eye opening experience and one from which she learned a great deal. Erica remarks that this experience will be extremely important to her as she looks to build a career for herself after college.

  5. US Tax Leader

Chelsea, an intern from PwC's Northeast market, with Mark Mendola, PwC US Tax Leader, in the live webcast studio in the New York office. Chelsea spent the day with Mark as part of the Leadership team shadow experience during her internship. She remarked, "It was such a unique learning experience, unlike anything I've ever done before. Mark gave me great advice that I can use in all aspects of my life.

It was really incredible to see that the PwC culture seems to come from the top - everyone I met on the leadership team, emanated the same culture as those I met in the Seattle office."

  7. US Clients and Markets Leader

Tulsa Assurance intern Eric spent the day shadowing Greg Garrison, Vice Chair, Clients and Markets. Reflecting on the "experience of a lifetime" building a relationship with a senior partner very early in his career, Eric said "I was here to absorb all that Greg had to share, and to learn all I could."
