After dramatic expansion through acquisition over more than a decade, a leading regional healthcare organization had become one of the largest providers in the country, with over 60,000 employees across more than 900 locations. The CEO wanted to maximize the use of talent within the organization by focusing on skill optimization of the workforce. To do so, the provider needed better visibility into its employee base, and a system that would allow it to measure key business objectives across the workforce.
The provider partnered with PwC to implement SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics & Planning and build dashboards to measure key workforce data linked to business objectives, providing an actionable set of measures that they could track against on a monthly basis. Using workforce analytics as a strategic tool requires more than simply implementing and getting the tool up and running.

The project delivered a foundational step toward the provider’s longer-term vision of leadership in healthcare delivery. The platform enables the provider to monitor and achieve its strategic goals, with a consistent way of reporting on its people using key metrics. An automated monthly leadership dashboard allows every hospital president to examine his or her workforce in the same way, facilitating intra-hospital goal setting and communication. With a defined list of metrics standardized across the enterprise, the client can link business objectives to data points to track against to deliver greater accountability and optimize talent across the organization.
