Continuing our journey in Belize

During July 9-14, 2011, two hundred PwC partners, principals, staff and interns from across the US traveled to Belize City, Belize, to lead an effort that supports our firm's commitment to youth development through education, primarily financial literacy and environmental sustainability.

Our return to Belize supported our three-year relationship with various schools in Belize City. This year, we have increased the number of schools impacted from four to ten, providing an opportunity for us to teach and connect with more than 1,200 students and their teachers. Our people collaborated in teams and led a dynamic curriculum. While in Belize, we also hosted a youth financial literacy camp at seven schools, led a Scholar's Mentoring program for current and former Belizean students who received PwC education scholarships, provide financial and technology training to teachers, and built Learning Landscape playgrounds using re-purposed materials.

Our firm's commitment to Project Belize not only continues to make a lasting impact on the children of Belize, but also provides our partners, staff and interns an opportunity to demonstrate responsible leadership as they share and develop their skills, inspire children, and support teachers.
