The responsible actions that our 30,000 partners and staff demonstrate everyday help build public trust and serve to support the health of the world's capital market system. Additionally, our people's sense of corporate responsibility also serve others in more personal ways—through building an inclusive culture, community outreach and efforts to support a more sustainable environment. As a Firm, we encourage these experiences because having a positive impact on others and serving others is not only personally satisfying, but it also renews the leadership skills our clients expect. We also believe it is our responsibility to inspire our people to be responsible leaders, to proactively develop the next generation of leaders and to contribute to a healthier environment. Corporate Responsibility (CR) supports the type of experience we want to deliver to our people and to the marketplace—influencing pride, morale and job satisfaction as well as impacting how we are perceived as a responsible service provider.
Individual initiatives at the local level capture the passion and imagination of our people and those with whom we interact, especially when they connect directly to the needs, priorities and concerns of the local marketplace. We leverage that enthusiasm and participation at the local level, but also provide the guidance and resources to help drive unified CR efforts across the US Firm. Our national consistency and alignment around CR starts with clarity of purpose around which all of our efforts will flow. For us, the themes which run through our efforts, providing the context for our strategy, include Youth Education, Climate Change and Diversity and Inclusion.
These three themes serve as the guiding principles that focus our actions in the globally adopted CR framework, of Marketplace, People, Community and Environment which serve to display the commitments we make to act responsibly in all spheres in which we operate.
