Summer of Community Service
As an organization, we recognize that we have a social obligation to our local markets through intellectual, physical and financial support. Our people care about the communities in which they live and work. This is an important and distinctive element of pride at PwC- and it’s a direct result of the supportive, caring culture that we’ve built and are sustaining. We bring a common purpose: to help inspire positive, lasting change through sustainable actions. We accomplish this by focusing our community outreach on youth education, since education is the foundation for community development, providing growth opportunities for the young, advancing future leaders and further developings the growing population of quality professionals who can support the increasingly complex business issues in the marketplace. For the fourth year in a row, our firm supported the Summer of Community Service program, where our 30,000 partners and staff volunteer in firm-sponsored activities in their local communities. This year, we expanded this program from one to three months, allowing our 30,000 partners and staff more time and resources to give back to communities. Through this national effort, our people raised over $429,000, volunteered in nearly 200 projects, impacted more than 97,000 children and donated over 74,000 work hours. This is how we are making it count in our communities.
