The Norwich office, located close to the River Wensum in the heart of the city centre, has 110 staff, with four partners and around 25 trainees. Some of those hail from Norfolk; others have attended the University of East Anglia and enjoyed living here, so have opted to stay.
Our work
Our client portfolio represents a mix of sectors - food, manufacturing, business services and retail, as well as financial services. Government and public sector business is important to us, with a number of local authorities, fire authorities and hospitals turning to us for Assurance and Financial Advisory services.
The Norwich office offers a virtually full range of PwC services, including Advisory, Corporate Finance, Business Recovery and Tax. Our biggest growth areas have been in commercial Assurance and Tax - mainly due to highly successful, proactive business development activities.
Out of the office
As a smaller office, it's easier for people working in Norwich to get to know each other, and we pride ourselves on the strong working relationships and friendships that have flourished here. We stage a number of regular social and sporting activities, with our own office football and cricket teams, team-building away days, summer and Christmas parties and more informal nights out.
Our staff are all encouraged to get involved in various charity and community activities. Some sit on local charity boards or school boards, and we participate in the Young Enterprise programme, with staff volunteering to work with local schools, mentoring teams of students tasked with developing business plans. We also support school reading and writing schemes, with staff contributing a combination of work and personal time.
From a future perspective, we foresee big growth in our public sector business - and in more than simply Assurance; we're increasing Advisory work, especially in the health sector, and stepping up our internal audit activity. And we're confident of continuing to grow our market share across all service lines. For students seeking a wide variety of work - in an office where they can quickly assimilate into the team - Norwich makes an excellent prospect.
