East Midlands

Our office is situated in the East Midlands Airport Business Park, centrally located for Derby, Nottingham and Leicester. It's modern, light and open-plan, with a contemporary feel, lots of natural light and fantastic meeting, training and conference facilities. There's plenty of free parking for our 350 staff, which includes some 60 trainees and 30 partners and directors.

The University of Nottingham is the biggest source of graduates by number for the PwC UK firm - and many of those choose to train at the East Midlands office. But there are also trainees from all around the UK.

Client portfolio

We have clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to some of the largest companies in the region, operating in retail, leisure, engineering, manufacturing, coal mining, services, pharmaceuticals, utilities and construction. Graduates working here can expect to work on a broad spread of those clients, specialising at an early stage if desired.

We're a 'full service office' - and unique, in that everyone, in all of PwC's major service lines, works alongside each other. Auditors sit next to corporate financiers who sit next to tax people - generating great opportunities to work together, whether on Cycles of Experience or simply by delivering great service to our clients, as well as cross-selling business development opportunities.

Work-life balance

The sports and social scene is lively too, with regular football, netball, touch rugby and cricket, as well as competitions with other offices and with clients. We have free membership for staff at a local gym, and frequent team meals and social events (which tend to take place in Nottingham). There's a social club run by staff, and an annual ball for everyone and their partners. The social side is an important element of office life here.

We have an active community programme in which staff are encouraged to get involved - and most do, finding it a richly rewarding experience. We focus on three areas - education, employability and the environment, and aim to play a meaningful role, giving something back to the communities where we do business. In the last year alone, we've undertaken five team challenges (including renovation and gardening schemes), six Young Enterprise days at primary schools, 135 'Right to Read' reading sessions with local children, as well as mentoring 10 Accountancy A' level students at Leicester College. And that's just some of the things we're involved in. We're proud that in our region, PwC people have 200 people out volunteering for various programmes, with over 3,200 work hours invested - so far.

We're the largest office of any professional services firm in the region - working with the largest proportion of clients in all the segments in which we operate, whether top-tier, inward investment or entrepreneurial and private client firms. All are important to us - and graduates joining us in the East Midlands will have superb exposure to PwC's service offering right across the board.
