Do you need a Work Permit?

Graduate Programmes

Please note that from Autumn 2008, the Tier 2 Skilled Workers of the new Points Based System replaced the Work Permit Scheme. Instead of "work permits" being issued by the Home Office, approved licensed employers will issue "Certificates of Sponsorship".

Please note that employers are required by law to confirm that their employees are eligible to work in the UK, and this check is carried out on the first day at work, if not before.

Internships & placements

We cannot obtain Certificates of Sponsorship for internships and fixed-term placements. However, if you're an overseas national in full-time education in the UK, current regulations allow that you don't need a work permit for these.

HEADstart

Under the UK Border Agency codes of practice, we are unable to provide sponsorship for HEADstart roles.
