What you'll do
You’ll be part of a project team from day one, helping clients reduce their exposure to business risks. In fact, you'll be right on the front line, with real responsibility for vital support tasks. At the same time, you’ll head up a steep learning curve that‘s as rewarding as it is challenging.
You'll apply your intellect to a host of issues that are crucial to an organisation’s ability to perform effectively and with confidence.
You could be:
- examining an organisation’s business process controls or IT systems security
- advising on sustainability issues or the outsourcing of services
- helping clients understand how sound risk awareness enhances their ability to achieve corporate objectives and communicate more effectively with investors, customers and the public.

Training development
We invest heavily in your development from day one. You’ll get broad exposure to the wider Assurance business, gaining experience in audit alongside your client work within Risk Assurance Services. You’ll learn how clients in different industries operate – and about the various opportunities and threats they face. And you’ll find out about the many different specialist teams within our business.
If you're to advise clients on financial reporting systems and processes, you must understand the numbers they produce. That's why you'll study for the ACA professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales (ICAEW). The studies are rigorous and demanding - but we'll be right behind you, giving you full financial support and access to first-class tuition. When you qualify, you'll be a well-rounded business adviser, enjoying a real career head-start.
About you
So what does it take to cut it in audit? Well, you'll need to be committed to delivering outstanding results for our clients, good with detail and highly numerate. Shrewd judgement, and people and teamwork skills are equally crucial. Our most successful people are also flexible about the work they do and where they do it.
In addition, you need to be genuinely interested in risk and learning more about how it fits within the overall business context.
You'll also need a 2.1 in any discipline plus 300 UCAS points (or equivalent).
