London North - St Albans

The St Albans office is an excellent environment in which to work - and it's one in which you'll certainly be challenged. Within our workforce of around 150, we have 11 partners and directors, as well as some 50-55 trainees - so you'll have a large peer group to get to know and enjoy training with.

The St Albans office attracts people who don't necessarily want to work in London but want to be close enough to enjoy the capital (we're just a 20-minute train journey from the city centre). That means we have a large number of experienced secondees from PwC abroad - such as the US, South Africa and various European cities.

Our business

The St Albans office provides services to clients from a large variety of industries, although our major focuses are on retail, shipping, airline and media. As our geographical coverage spans the top half of the M25 and all the way up towards Northampton and round Essex, there's a large range to which you'll gain exposure.

Lines of service represented here include Assurance - our largest team - as well as Tax and Risk Assessment Services. We also have growing Pensions and Transaction Services teams and are able to gain leverage from being so close to our London practice.

We're an office with ambitious growth plans - and we invite you to join us as we forge links with more local businesses and our local community.

Life in the office

Working relationships are cultivated and enhanced through social and sporting activities. The office has a sports and social club, with committee representation of people in each training year and peer group. They organise many varied events, from dragon boat racing to movie premieres and trips to local nightspots. We also host an annual fun day that includes family of staff members, and have monthly drinks evenings, as well as regular (and highly competitive) pub quizzes.

The office also supports its many sporting teams - such as football and cricket - in frequent matches and tournaments against clients, local businesses and other PwC offices. And we enjoy relaxing with spa days, as well as occasional weekends away.

PwC's community affairs agenda is fully supported in St Albans, supporting a local charity each year and raising money through everything from jumble sales and cake-making to 'money-growing' schemes and volunteering. On a larger scale, we're engaged with the Young Enterprise initiative; we won the award for best and most committed business advisers in the region. Last year we also had a number of teams compete in the 3 Peaks Challenge.

Come to St Albans - and you'll enjoy strong support, diversity of experience - and a fantastic location.
